We have already established the fact that being fat does not mean you are unhealthy. You can be fleshy and still be beautiful, healthy and as active as any other less fleshy person.

That being said, I must let you know that if you are not careful with certain habits, you may unknowingly be giving room for your body to accumulate more calories, making you get fatter.

Remember that staying healthy should always be your priority. Here are 6 things you must stop doing to maintain a good weight and stay healthy:

  1. Taking insufficient water:

Let me remind you how essential water is to every living creature. 60% of the body content is water, and your body needs it to function maximally. Do you know how much water leaves your body as sweat or urine, especially as a plus-size person? That is why you need to regularly take water so that you do not get dehydrated as you go about your activities. It is recommended medically to take at least 2 litres of water every day. Water helps your body function perfectly and no, it does not increase your weight. So you have nothing to worry about when consuming the water your body needs.

  • Sitting for long:

Research has shown that the average human sits for about 9 to 11 hours every day. Exciting fact, right? True! But then it has also been proven that people who sit for too long are most likely going to add weight. I’m sure you appreciate your current size and wouldn’t want to get bigger than you are. Avoid sitting too long. Take short walks, move your body and stay healthy.

  • Not sleeping enough:

Do you know that a healthy adult should have about 7 to 9 hours of sleep daily to stay healthy? Now the question is, do you get enough sleep? If no, that’s an unhealthy habit and should be stopped. No matter how busy you are, you must ensure that you get enough rest to enable your body system to carry out its duties better.

  • Overworking yourself:

This may be the reason behind your poor sleeping habits. It is only a healthy person that can function, and I hope you know that. Take some time off work and get some rest so that your body does not get overwhelmed by excess work and break down.

  • Not taking sufficient protein, fibre, and vegetables:

Let’s talk about your eating habits. Your body requires lots of protein because it helps in the growth and maintenance of tissues in your body. What about fibres and vegetables? They aid digestion and help you stay fresh and healthy. And no, they do not make you fatter. So take lots and lots of them, and I am sure you will be pleased with the outcome. Eggs (boiled especially), poultry, fruits high in fibre, and vegetables in balanced proportions should be included in your diet.

  • Using the elevator:

Now let me give you a hint. Do you know that taking the elevator at all times robs you of the opportunity of having a short workout session on the staircase? Taking the stairs is a great chance to exercise and stretch your bones and muscles. So next time, try using the stairs instead of the elevator.

I want to assure you that you will notice an improvement once you have taken the bold step of cutting off these unhealthy habits. So let’s stay fleshy and healthy!

Seasons greetings to you and enjoy responsibly.
